Learn to Skip at Home

Learn to skip at home, get moving and have fun with just a rope and a little space. Whether you’re a complete beginner, skipping for fitness or ready to learn some new tricks, you can start right here.

— WHY SKIPPING?

A skipping rope, a little space and you’re ready to go

One of the best things about skipping is how easy it is to get started. You don’t need a gym, expensive equipment or loads of space. With a skipping rope and somewhere reasonably flat to practise, you can learn at home, head outside or take your rope with you just about anywhere.

If you’re looking for a fun way to get moving, skipping can be a great addition to your fitness routine. It gets your whole body moving, adds cardio to your workout and challenges your coordination as you learn. You can practise for a few minutes at home, add jump rope to a longer workout, use it alongside CrossFit or other training, or simply pick up a rope because you want exercise to feel a bit more fun.

And skipping doesn’t have to mean doing the same basic jump over and over again. Once you start learning, there’s a whole world of jump rope skills and freestyle tricks to discover. You can keep things simple, work towards new tricks or start putting different skills together as your confidence grows.

If you’re completely new to skipping, that’s absolutely fine too. You don’t need to already be fit, coordinated or good with a rope. Start with the basics, learn at your own pace and see where it takes you.

I started by learning online myself, so I know just how far picking up a rope and having a go can lead.
